My name is Yulia Proskokova, and I’m from Kaliningrad. I really love watching travel shows. That’s probably why my dream is to become a host or director of such a show. I haven’t quite decided yet. But I definitely want to create a media project—a travel show that would bring together travel, people, and their real lives.
I want it to be more than just a typical show where participants complete challenges; I want it to be a project that lets you truly immerse yourself in the culture of a place as you watch. I want to interact with locals and show how they live—the good and the bad.
For example, tour guides usually only talk about the good things about their city or region. But I want to see and understand the other side, to talk about it, so there’s a complete picture.
«My dream is to create a show that would showcase the beauty and challenges from the inside. I don't know yet how to make that happen, but I really want to give it a try»

I’m currently a member of my university’s Media Center, and I’d like to organize a tour of the cities in the Kaliningrad Region through the center. To me, this is something truly unique. When you travel through Russia’s regions, you usually go to the regional capital. But the Kaliningrad Region is special: you can travel to the cities within the region, and each one has its own story.
I haven’t had a chance to visit that many places yet, but I really wanted to start making my dream a reality with this project. So far, of course, it’s just an idea.
In general, I dream of creating an international show. I’d like it to be independent of any specific theme and to explore different aspects of people’s lives.
I don’t know exactly how this dream came about. I guess I’ve always loved watching *Heads or Tails* and dreamed of becoming a host. I liked the idea of traveling for free and getting paid for it, too. Now I realize there’s a downside to that as well. But I’d love to live that kind of life for at least two years.

And I think my desire to travel so actively and try new things is largely due to my mom. She’s a very active person and my role model. Last year, she went on a seven-day hiking trip to the Altai Mountains. It’s very inspiring for me to see someone who isn’t afraid to try new things and just decides to go on a hike like that.
Maybe it’s in my genes. I’d like to live such an active life, too. I want to travel, see new places, and challenge myself in different ways. That’s why I dream of climbing Mount Elbrus and, in general, want to travel more in my life.
That’s probably why I relate so much to the travel show format. It lets you travel, meet people, learn about their culture, and share those experiences with others all at once.
For now, I’m taking small steps toward that dream. I’m filming vlogs and trying my hand at editing, photography, and videography. I watch various travel shows and movies. If you haven’t seen the movie *The Altitude Gene*, you should definitely check it out.
Right now, I’m at a point where I have an idea and a dream. I browse forums, do research, and broaden my horizons. I’m looking for that one nudge that will give me a clear understanding of what I need to do to make my dream a reality.
«I don't know yet what my show will be like. But I do know how I want it to be: authentic. I want it to be a way to get to know people, their culture, and their lives through travel—not just the beautiful side, but every other aspect as well»
